Who are We

Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is a registered 501c3 non-profit that strives to support Georgia’s breast cancer community by raising funds to support breast health and breast cancer programs throughout the state!

Our Mission Statement

Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer’s mission is to engage with Georgia’s breast cancer community to increase access to care and reduce disparities in cancer outcomes.

Our History

Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (formerly It’s the Journey) is a local nonprofit established in 2002 by breast cancer survivor Randi Passoff. Inspired by the Avon 3‑Day Breast Cancer Walk, Randi envisioned a gentler, more welcoming event – and so launched the Georgia 2‑Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

Rather than walking 60 miles over three days and camping out, participants now walk 30 miles across two days and stay in hotels. Best of all, every dollar raised here in Georgia stays in Georgia, supporting local survivors and initiatives.

2026 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer
Oct 3 @ 7:00 am – Oct 4 @ 12:00 pm

The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is an annual fundraising endurance walk that takes place on October 3-4, 2026. Participants will cover 30 miles across Cobb County over two days – Saturday and Sunday – staying overnight at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel.

With the funds from the walk, Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is able to fund grants that serve over 100 counties in Georgia. These programs provide mammograms, clinical breast exams, genetic counseling and testing, biopsies, support services, education, and much more. Many of our grants have a specific focus on under-served individuals in our community- uninsured and under-insured women for whom these types of breast health measures are often not available.

Since 2002, we have raised over $20 million and awarded over 570 grants for vital breast health services throughout the state.
