To help encourage continued fundraising during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are introducing Oktoberbreast! Oktoberbreast is your team’s chance to shine, and we hope to fill out a calendar of fun 2-Day fundraisers taking place each day in October. Whether it’s a dine out night, a barbecue plate sale, pumpkin carving party, brewery event, clothing swap, or workplace fundraiser, every dollar matters as we stretch to reach our 2020 fundraising goal of $550,000.
Please contact Whitney today at wjones@2daywalk.org to get your event on the Oktoberbreast calendar. Each event will get promoted on our Facebook page in October and you will be able to search for upcoming events on the website calendar!

Stick To It Challenge: Daily Gratitude
An attitude of gratitude isn’t only good for your outlook- it can foster better relationships, help you sleep, and improve your overall mental health. We want to challenge you to list 3 things you are grateful for each day!
Contest: Everyone who completes at least 3 days of the Gratitude Challenge will be entered into a raffle to win a personalized gratitude journal!
Target Fitness Goal: Walk a 5K! You already know that the 2-Day Walk is a 30 mile event (20 miles on Saturday, 10 miles on Sunday). Figuring out how to train for something like this can feel intimidating, but don’t be nervous! We’re here to help. This Adventure, we’re challenging you to work your way up to walking a 5K- that’s around 3.1 miles. Take your time, listen to your body, make sure you have well-fitting shoes and moisture-wicking socks, and you can totally do this! Finding a great music playlist or interesting podcast are all easy ways to help keep you feeling engaged and motivated as you add mileage to your training walks!

Inspiration Location: Cochran Shoals Park
Tired of all your usual training spots? Then check out this Adventure’s Inspiration Location! Cochran Shoals Park is the perfect place to meet your Target Fitness Goal 5K distance challenge! The outer loop trail is a mostly level 5k training loop, tailor made for a challenge like this. The loop takes you along the scenic Chattahoochee River, so you can enjoy all the wildlife the river and its marshlands have to offer. As Atlantatrails.com says, “It’s one of Atlanta’s all-time most popular trails, and equally great for a Sunday stroll or running a few 5k training loops.”
