It’s The Journey 2015 Special Grant Awards

At Monday’s Grantee Celebration, a few of our amazing 2-Day Walkers were given the opportunity to award special grants to the It’s The Journey Grantee of their choice.

Largest Team: Pink Ladies
Grantee: PINK at Piedmont

The Pink Ladies met the PINK at Piedmont representatives at last year’s Grantee Celebration and vowed to become the largest team, and to give a special grant to PINK- and they did!

2nd Largest Team: Breasta Fiesta
Grantee: Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation

Breast Fiesta wanted to give direct financial aid to individuals going through breast cancer treatment, so they chose the Atlanta Cancer Care Foundation.

Top Individual Fundraiser: Heather Slade
Grantee: TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation

Heather lost her sister to breast cancer last year. Her sister, Sara Skillman, was treated at TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.

2nd Individual Fundraiser: Barbara Rogers
Grantee: Mercy Care Foundation

Barbara was treated at St. Joseph’s Hospital when she was battling breast cancer, so she chose to give her special grant to St. Joseph’s Mercy Care Foundation.

Randi Passoff Spirit Award: Kathy Ivie
Grantee: Athens Nurses Clinic

Kathy Ivie selected Athens Nurses Clinic because they offer breast health services right in Kathy’s home town of Monroe, Georgia.
