ArtInstitutesOn Thursday, October 29th, students from the Art Institutes of Atlanta put on Music for the Cure- a breast cancer awareness concert benefiting It’s The Journey. The concert and reception were the culmination of a month-long effort by students to raise money through bake sales and other on-campus events.

A student led effort supported by the Office of Student Affairs, the event opened with a reception during which Atlanta 2-Day Walker and breast cancer survivor Tammie Gietl spoke to students. Tammie shared her experience with breast cancer, and how her journey connected her to It’s The Journey through both one of our grantees and through one of our sponsors, ultimately leading to her participation in the 2015 Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.

It’s The Journey is grateful to the students and faculty of Art Institute Atlanta who helped to make this fantastic event a reality, and we look forward to further partnering with AIA’s incredible body of creative and compassionate students in the months and years to come!
