If you are having trouble getting excited about fundraising, try these fun ways to rally people to your cause and have a good time doing it!
1. Restaurant Fundraiser
Many restaurants will have a fundraising night and donate a portion of their proceeds to your cause. Talk to a manager about having an Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer night. A few tips: seek out establishments that offer percentages of the entire night’s proceeds- not just a percentage from those who mention your charity. Multiple days and higher percentages are a plus.
2. Yard Sale
De-clutter your house and contribute to breast cancer treatment at the same time! Don’t have enough stuff in your own home? Make it a team yard sale.
3. Make t-shirts
Design team t-shirts. They can be printed cheaply and then given away for donations.
4. Crafting
Learn a new skill and raise money at the same time! Knitting, bookbinding, jewelry making, or anything else your Pinterest board can dream up could make great items to sell as fundraisers.
5. Silent Auction
This is especially good for teams- solicit donated goods from local establishments and hold a silent auction at your house. Charge an admission fee or have a cash bar and raise even more in donations.
6. Clothing Swap
Gather bags of lightly worn clothing, shoes and accessories from your team, invite your friends, and shop in each other’s closets! Charge an admission fee to be donated to the Atlanta 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer.
7. Car Wash
If you have teenagers who are just dying to help you raise your pledge amount, hold a car wash and put them to work!
8. Baby-sit-a-thon
Gather your team together to babysit for several families in your neighborhood. Ten children could mean $100 an hour for your team.
9. Matching Gifts
Go online to see if your company or the companies of your donors offer to match gifts given by their employees. This can be a great way to double your donations. http://doublethedonation.com/2daywalk
10. E-mail, Facebook, and Twitter
You can always share your personal donation page on your Facebook, Twitter, and in an e-mail to all of your contacts. Do it weekly and watch the donations pour in!
