Training
Don’t Forget to Train for The 2-Day Walk!
Get ready to hit the ground running on October 3rd – your training matters! Whether you’re walking your first mile or your fiftieth, consistency is key:
“The only bad workout is the one that didn’t happen.”
Key points:
- Walk 2-3 days during the week 20-40 minutes minimum.
- If training for the 2-Day Saturday and Sunday option, try to do 2 sessions back to back, as per the schedule.
- Don’t worry about speed on the longer walks, only distance.
- Join us for some or all of our provided training walks!
The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is an annual fundraising endurance walk that takes place on October 4-5, 2025. Participants will cover 30 miles across Cobb County over two days – Saturday and Sunday – staying overnight at the
Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel . Last year, nearly 1,000 walkers committed to fundraising and training for this event. View our 2025 Ultimate Guide to the 2-Day.
Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (formerly It’s the Journey) is a local nonprofit established in 2002 by breast cancer survivor Randi Passoff. Inspired by the Avon 3‑Day Breast Cancer Walk, Randi envisioned a gentler, more welcoming event – and so launched the Georgia 2‑Day Walk for Breast Cancer.
Rather than walking 60 miles over three days and camping out, participants now walk 30 miles across two days and stay in hotels. Best of all, every dollar raised here in Georgia stays in Georgia, supporting local survivors and initiatives.

With the funds from the walk, Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is able to fund grants that serve over 100 counties in Georgia. These programs provide mammograms, clinical breast exams, genetic counseling and testing, biopsies, support services, education, and much more. Many of our grants have a specific focus on under-served individuals in our community- uninsured and under-insured women for whom these types of breast health measures are often not available.
Since 2002, we have raised over $20 million and awarded over 570 grants for vital breast health services throughout the state.
