We’ve been teasing Saturday activities at this year’s 2-Day Walk, and now we’re excited to let you know a bit more about what we have planned!
Check-in to the 2-Day Walk begins at 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 2. After you check in, you’ll have an opportunity to explore our 2021 2-Day Walk Expo! The Expo will consist of some of your favorite 2-Day Walk B’Rest Stop sponsors and vendors (yes- Missy “the stuff lady” will be there with her fabulous wares)!
Additionally, you’ll have an opportunity to shop the 2-Day store, and to vote on this year’s Festival of Bras entries!
You’ll also get a chance to learn more about ITJ’s 2021 Grantees, including the nominees for this year’s Community Gift, which all registered walkers and crew members will get to vote for digitally!
Stationed throughout the hotel, we’ll have a Mile Marker hunt! Get your pictures taken with Mile Markers 1-20, and every time you post a picture to social media with the hashtag #GA2DayWalk, you’ll be entered in a raffle to win a free registration for next year’s Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer!
At each Mile Marker, you’ll also get an opportunity to learn more about where the money raised by the 2-Day Walk goes! In addition to information about our various grantees, you will also get to personally meet some of the incredible people providing these life-saving and life-changing breast health and breast cancer services! We hope this opportunity to learn more about our mission inspires you and helps you feel even more confident in your choice to support It’s The Journey.
Finally, we’ll also have a station set up to write letters of encouragement to people going through the breast cancer diagnostic/treatment process. ITJ will distribute those letters to our grantees to give to their breast cancer patients. 💕
Our walker reception will be open from 4:30-7:00 pm (cash bar), and dinner will be ready for pick up at 6:30 pm. You’ll then be free to enjoy dinner wherever you feel most comfortable, and at 7:30 you can enjoy our Saturday Night Celebration which will be broadcast in your hotel rooms via Marriott’s streaming service.
